Theme Groups I and II visit demonstration projects of North Holland and Schieland and the Krimpenerwaard

In May Theme Groups I and II joined forces and visited the two demonstration projects of the Dutch partners in TRUST. It was their second visit to these sites. Partner site visits and meetings with local project teams are of vital importance to reach final conclusions on the subjects of Multi Functional Use and Integral Water Management.

Both Dutch projects are in the execution phase now, so it was the perfect moment to see what had been done with the groups’ comments and recommendations that had been made during the planning phase.

Although it is too early to jump to final conclusions, it is already clear that the trans-national co-operation has helped in improving these two projects. Later this year site visits will be made to the other TRUST demonstration projects. The results of the site visits will be reported in the TRUST Best Practices Manual. All the lessons learned from the five TRUST projects will be demonstrated in this manual. The experiences of the theme groups I, II and III in the TRUST programme will definitely help others who will embark on Interreg programmes.
